Tomorrow, Wednesday 26 July 2023, Ethical Charter for Syrian Media “ECSM” will hold an online training workshop on “accountability and media, tools and functions”.

The workshop aims to introduce journalists to the concept and tools of accountability and its importance at the individual and societal levels, and enable them to understand the role of the media in promoting accountability, and provide them with the necessary skills that enable them to advocate this role.

The workshop includes analytical information on the impact of the media in promoting public accountability, enhancing transparency and accountability in institutions and governments, the pillars of accountability, mechanisms for involvement of the public, and the importance of media education.

Fifteen journalists working inside Syria participate in the workshop, under the supervision of journalist trainer Arwa Kooli, assistant professor at the Institute of Journalism and News Sciences in Tunisia.
